This morning we had a great sponsored breakfast from Eastman Innovation Labs. Aside from a pretty nice meal (an omelet with smoked salmon and spinach), we got to hear from Sotera Wireless Inc. about a product they are working on called Guardian Angel. It is a wireless monitoring device for patients and medical staff that looks to be game changing. Working with Eastman, they developed a material that was extremely durable, sanitary, and allowed for easy assembly. I feel pretty enthusiastic about this product and hope to see it in the near future. Though it is still in development, I hope that it changes things for the rest of the medical device industry.
